Latera is a medieval hamlet north of Viterbo. Its devotional rituals, which are constantly both preserved and modernized, give a chance to the people to redefine their local affinity and identity. This is the case especially during Holy Week, distinguished for the abundance of brotherhood hymns and luminarie (decorative light installations). Lanterne di fede depicts the depth of the event through a series of well structured visual anthropology materials, resulting in a film and thirteen monothematic detailed studies on the practices and methods behind this fundamental time of the year.
